the tune of three alarms OR the coast
This isn’t about cruising along the beachside on a Rebel sporting some stylish motorcycle sunglasses. This is about how my morning wasn’t as bad as I thought.
I woke up to three alarm clocks set to go off at different times close to each other. The alarm set on my notebook would play “Warbrain” by Alk3. The one on my machinembryo would play “Backstabber” by The Dresden Dolls. The actual alarm clock was set to explode with the standard ear-piercing beeps. I took advantage of setting them early enough to where I could hit snooze on each one before getting the drift. That’s like hitting the snooze button three consecutive times in an unset interval.
I didn’t do my homework correctly, but that was due mainly to it not being formatted correctly… an easy fix that I can take care of after work. My patient was not difficult to work with or offered much of a challenge. She was feeling well and ready to go today. I don’t have to be up again too early to be at a 6:30am clinical. My clinical tomorrow will be in a different area of the medical center and won’t start until 8am. Hooray for that.
I didn’t really fade out last night until past 3, so I had almost a few hours of sleep. That miniscule amount of sleep made all of the difference in the world to me. Granted, I had minor trouble focusing being that it was so early in the morning, but that’s okay. It wasn’t as bad as a couple weeks ago. That’s right. Last post I said I didn’t sleep at all the previous Thursday. Correct that for the record. It was two weeks ago.
I’ll be off to work in less than an hour, and I still have the opportunity to have a sandwich for lunch. I know I’ll still feel drained at work pinned down in that chair staring into a glowing square, but it won’t be as bad as a couple weeks ago.
