Modern Soapbox

My instructor emailed me about my second exam grade and wanted to know what my plan was. I replied telling her that I wasn’t going to give up without putting up a fight. I was going to study ’til my brain bled, and I was going to make it through again like I did last time. I still had a chance. It was just going to take an act from God.

She advised that I should think about withdrawing from my classes and retaking them in the Fall. I thought about it throughout my shift on Monday. My main concerns were that I’d be disappointing my parents and what the hell I was going to do with my life. I thought about how stressful school is and how much I hated waking up too early to attend labs and clinicals. I thought about The Wait. I thought the pros and cons of everything that’s going on in my life. The top thing on my mind that day was: Did I want to fight or did I want to throw in the towel? I talked about it that night with Mare and K$.

The next day was going to change everything.
