If the institution’s system wasn’t so flawed, then I wouldn’t have had to wait in the saturation representation of a waiting list to get into the program. I was on it for a long time, something like a year and a half but could have been two years.

I think having someone wait that long to get into a program can easily make it to where that person will lose the passion to do it once the opportunity comes around. I am that person.

I moved twice in that time. I’ve quit two jobs in that time. I found a full-time job I really like working. I established a new blog. I drew a comic in twenty-four hours. I got a bunch a bettas. I grew some bean plants one summer, and they grew beans of their own.

If I didn’t have to wait so long, then I guarantee you that I wouldn’t have made changes in my life that have left me where I am and I’d still be living with my parents working a part-time job and getting through school.

Am I disgruntled? Not entirely. The system should have not made me wait at all, and that disappoints me. I can’t hold a grudge though ’cause I made the decision to give it up. I finally figured out that it’s not for me.
