the importance of deactivating plugins

WordPress has released the second candidate for Version 2.5.
With the eager anticipation from the WP user community, I boldly went where I haven’t gone before and tried out Version 2.5-RC1. What resulted was days worth of headache after minor pieces of the puzzle broke, and I had no idea how to fix it.
I consider myself [...]

the sleepercar

This past Easter Sunday, Sleepercar paid a visit to Mohawk’s in Austin, Texas.
Jim Ward, better known as the frontman for the rock band Sparta, has formed Sleepercar, an alt-country band heavily influenced by bands like The Old 97’s and Wilco. Their debut album, West Texas, will be released on April 22nd on Civil Defense League/Doghouse [...]

the ‘za of the week (mar 23 - mar 29)

I think we’ve made tonight’s ‘Za of the Week before. This one had pepperoni, pineapple, and red onion on top of sun-dried tomato pesto with mozzarella cheese. The combination makes a pie packed with bold flavor.

I’m trying to utilize more of the photo space when taking the before and after pics.

This after photo was shot [...]

the tangible

Not too much is going on lately. Time just keeps ticking away.
My copy of X-Force #1 with the variant cover came in. I won it off eBay, and it made a journey all the way from Canada. I think I’ve gotten my variant cover fix for the time being, since I’ve managed to score this [...]

the cartoon craze

Last night on the way home, I picked up some cough syrup, Lysol and satin floss at Wally World. Before checking out, I had to stop by the dollar DVDs section of see if I could find more Toon Factory or Cartoon Craze classic animation compilation DVDs. I found six for a total of eight! [...]

the heroes in a half shell

Today has been relaxing and beautiful. I’ve been watching TMNT cartoons all day, and I made a meal out of ice cream. The weather is optimal, and I don’t have much planned but to enjoy my day. I have family obligations later tonight, but that will be done quick and painlessly.
I’m reading TMNT #15 right [...]

the good friday

It’s half past three. I’m still awake. I’m not tired, because I took a nap today. Today was a company holiday. I had the day off today plus I got paid. Company holidays are always a bonus.
I just purchased my Thrice tickets online. I want to say I’ve been watching them live every time they’ve [...]

the economic stimulus act of 2008

In May, citizens across the country will benefit from the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008. Uncle Sam and friends put this together to avoid a possible recession.
People who qualify will receive a $600 bonus check from the government to do whatever they want with it. I see myself paying bills with it, and many others [...]

the ‘za of the week (mar 16 - mar 22)

This ‘Za of the Week came around quick. Time flies. This pie was very similar to last week’s, but we used sliced black olives instead of pineapple.

We also used bulk mozzarella that was shredded a little thicker than the usual mozzarella we used. The cheese melted more evenly with less spots and smoother than the [...]

the ‘za of the week (mar 9 - mar 15)

The ‘Za of the Week post has been delayed but not forgotten lately. Mare and I made this pie last Thursday. I worked late the previous Monday and Tuesday and was able to leave an hour early. On top of the unusual, I had worked from 9 to 4 that day so I returned to [...]

the how to

With a paid subscription to WIRED magazine, readers are given a free gift. One of the gifts is How To, a guide published in August 2007 on how to do a multitude of tasks.
The contents are divided up into three sections: how to work, how to live, and how to play.
Some of the articles include:

the 9 to 4

I had to get up wicked early this morning, and I mean this by own standards. I normally work the dream shift of 12pm-8pm, but I had a meeting scheduled at 9am. I was five minutes early to work, and not to my surprise, the meeting didn’t occur. I’m sure it will happen next Thursday. [...]

the buffiends vs. the mother pluckers

This title of this post is irrelevant to what you’re about to read. I had it saved as a draft but never got around to writing it. We’re probably gonna hit up the Chinese buffet this weekend, and we will be attending Pluckers this upcoming Tuesday, so maybe I can feel inspired to write the [...]
