the 4tb of disk space for under $280 | buy.com

Storage continues to decrease in price providing dataphiles with more terabytes than most of them can shake a stick at. Fantom keeps breaking the mold in large-capacity disk drives at the most affordable prices. If you need four terabytes for business or personal use, the right solution for you has recently gone on sale.

Sure, USB 2.0 is fast. eSATA is faster. This external disk storage system has an eSATA connection to read and write those ones and zeroes as fast as an internal SATA connection. Maximum sustained data transfer rate is greater than 100MB/s, so you can blame the lag on other components in your system if you ever experience the dilemma.

The built-in RAID controller allows you customize the hard drives within to your required RAID setting. Data loss is minimized, and you can have peace of mind that the integrity of your data will be protected. Don’t pass up this all-in-one eSATA/RAID/4TB system if you’re looking for the current lowest price on storage solutions. $70 a terabyte? Weren’t they more than twice that only a few years ago?

4TB may be a bit much for you, but you may need it in the future. With file sizes and system demands growing larger as newer innovations in technology are made available, the current state of computing has no regard for storage limitations. Make sure you have more than enough space to store your data before the Insufficient Disk Space Monster finds you.

the stretch before the finishing line

The last third of the Fall semester is currently in progress. After these few weeks go by, I will be on the verge of the last quarter of my program. I’ll be glad when it’s over. The balancing act with a full-time job, attending classes, and everything else that keeps me occupied has been wearing me out all year long.

2010 is almost over, and I definitely feel like I have done plenty. Next year will be bringing more permanent changes, and I’m definitely looking forward to every bit. Everyone around me has supported me very well, and all I ask is that everything else that doesn’t contribute or even matter would just Shift+Delete. I know that’s asking too much, but the pieces will fall into place soon and no independent force can keep any of this from happening. Absolutely beautiful.

the longest week ever

On Saturday, I had to take an exam. Scored 96 out of 100. w00t!

I knew I had another exam in another class that following Wednesday, but I was ready for it.

I didn’t know that the upcoming third exam in yet another class was that following Thursday until the Tuesday before. Ouch.

Along with the 40 hours worth of day job and the time I spend commuting, last week was busy with work and class alone. Fortunately, the exams were not as bad as I thought they would be and I stressed more over the fact that they were back-to-back than actually having to take them.

I feel I did OK with the minimal amount of preparation that I did.

the 2tb external hard drive for under $100 | buy.com

Does your home or office have multiple computers? Do you find yourself sifting through numerous hard drives, flash drives, optical discs, and other storage media to locate files and other data? Centralizing your data to one large disk can help you organize your digital media and save you plenty of time and headaches.

You might think you have way too many files to handle, but do they occupy more than two terabytes of space? If not, then consider relocating them to a 2TB external hard drive. If you do have more than 2TB of data, then you will probably only need another one or two of these hard drives to have your data in as few places as possible to prevent the hunt for important files when you need them most.

Are you paranoid that one of these may fail on you? Invest in another 2TB hard drive during the 2TB for under $100 sale to use as a backup drive. The Fantom GreenDrive Pro has a 2-year limited warranty, so in the unfortunate event that the disk fails, then it will be covered.

If you haven’t networked the computers in your home or office, then you haven’t modernized your computing equipment. Storing your media in one location makes accessing and sharing easier and much more efficient.

the greatest perfection is imperfection (vanini)

(sig) I am content with everything for the most part. I accept that life is never perfect and embrace everything that brings even the smallest bit of happiness.

I’m currently jumping some hurdles and doing my best to not fall. When I do fall, then I just get right up, laugh maniacally (if I’m not out of breath), and watch the seconds continue to tick away just like you do.

Obstacles can be too overwhelming sometimes, but they only exist for you to overcome them and being a stronger individual. They’re rain on your parade but necessary to give you that slap in the face you deserve.
