I’m tired. I’ll be going to bed in about half an hour. I’m deciding which DVD I should put on to fade out to.

When we arrived at the Austin airport on Sunday, we went over to the baggage claim and waited for our luggage. No sign of them. As it turns out, our luggage didn’t make it on the connecting flight from Dallas to Austin in time to make it on the plane. My mother put in a lost claim, so they’d deliver the luggage directly to her house instead of us waiting for it.

We went home and picked up some fried chicken on the way, something that’s become sort of a tradition with us. My dad picked some fresh jalapeños in their backyard, and we enjoyed the chicken with some Texas Pete, fresh jalapeños and white rice.

On my way to work today, my brother texted me with information that Smashing Pumpkins rescheduled their Austin date to November 13th. BONUS!! I ordered tickets for Mare and me as soon as we returned from the grocery store and picking up my suitcase from my parents’ house. I don’t have enough to PTO to make up the time, but it’s still worth missing work for something I missed years ago.

Karma was on my side with that one. I was so bummed that I had to go to a wedding in California plus having to miss out on other great things like 24 Hour Comic Day and NaNoWriMo, but to my surprise, I didn’t have to miss one of my most favorite bands in the world after all.

Mare picked up the Zeitgeist re-release for me last Tuesday. It came with two bonus tracks and an unreleased song plus a DVD called Inside the Zeitgeist. It was only ten bucks from the friendly neighborhood Best Buy. Score!

My Marvel Universe Series I set with holograms arrived while I was in California. I just opened it tonite. To my disappointment, the dolt I got the cards from sent me the Series II base set instead of Series I. I have contacted him about his screwup, and if I remember, I’ll keep you posted with what goes on with this.

I’ve decided that the DVD I will be putting is Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. I’m sure I’ll fall asleep to it, but I don’t expect it to be spectacular even though I’ve never seen it. I’m also sure I’ll have the chance to watch it in its entirety another time.

I’m off for now. Peace out.
