Taqueria Montenegro is a destination that M&I make an effort to visit on Saturday mornings. They make the best torta in the universe hands down. The breakfast tacos, barbacoa, and pastor are also delicious. Their green salsa has right amount of spicy heat and completes the signature flavor of the food. Lazy Saturdays are not the same without a belly filled with the Mexican cuisine brought to this planet by the fine folks of the best taqueria in North Austin.
I look forward to this site celebrating its 5th anniversary this August.
New priorities will be made throughout this year, and the new direction is in progress. The updates here will probably be a lot like last year in terms of frequency, but I hope to have more to share.
I don’t do much brainstorming on here anymore. Almost everything that I do revolves outside this sandbox I once played in often. However, this is also my junk drawer that facilitates the collector aspect to my personality. I’ll try to post more random photos whenever they’re taken. I’ve thought about scanning random flat objects that contain information worth sharing and posting them up here for you to enjoy.
This corner is a lot less busier than it used to be, but people on their internet surfboards from all over the planet still manage to find something I’ve posted on here that they’ve been digging for in the online cesspool. A majority of the content has value to very few and even just myself. This intellectual property belongs to me, and I’m pleased to be its owner.
A possible New Year’s resolution: Post to Modern Soapbox more often like you did before.
I figured I’d post one more time here before the year ends.
I hope everyone reading this had a decent holiday celebration this past weekend. I enjoyed a three-day weekend. I played a bunch of video games: the X-Men ’92 arcade port c/o PSN, GT5, and God of War. I’m working thru the trilogy on the last title since I haven’t played them before.
I’m looking forward to 2011. I haven’t set in stone what I’ll be doing on New Year’s Eve, but I know I’ll be enjoying whatever it is I plan to do regardless. I haven’t made any New Year’s resolutions, but whatever I declare will have the tendency of going into a black hole like the zillions of resolutions that are declared across the globe. I plan to keep it real as usual though. That’s not really a resolution, since it’s nothing new.
I hope everyone reading this has a happy and safe New Year’s celebration. 2011 will have arrived by my next post. I hope to be less busy but equally as content with everything around me. Take care, world. Peace out.
December is already halfway over?! December 25th is only 8 days away?! 2010 is over in less than two weeks? Time definitely flies when you stay busy. I haven’t updated this at all this month and it’s almost already gone by.
This past week has been the first week in months where I did not attend any class. Thank goodness this semester is over. Thank goodness I don’t have to deal with the evening MoPac traffic on Tuesday and Thursday just to be physically present for a class I learned next to nothing in. I’m glad I survived. I’m very content with the progress I made and how I managed to do well and maintain my full-time day job without any issues.
I adore the idea of gift-shopping online. I also love free shipping to the receivers of the gift. With gas prices nearing $3/gallon again, traveling by automobile can dent the wallet a bit more usual.
My goddaughter is getting a Chicco DJ baby walker for her first Christmas. She’s going to make the best flower girl I could ever ask for.
Keep up with the eye-popping sale prices on external hard drives. The Fantom GreenDrive Pro 2TB external hard drive is now available for $89.99 after a $10 rebate. These inexpensive storage solutions are very popular right now. Stock is limited, so they could be sold out at this price very soon.
Why waste your time moving around files to free up space? With two terabytes available to you on one device, you can compute easier and store all of your data on this 2TB external hard drive. Keeping a backup of all of your important documents, digital photos, music, video is simple with with this much space.
Included with this GreenDrive is a 2 year warranty, ultra fast transfer speeds, and the peace of mind that you probably won’t be running out of disk space any time soon. Using an external hard drive is an efficient way of consolidating all of your files that may be scattered around all of the machines you use at school, work, and/or home.
Energy efficiency is a concern of many environmentally-conscious these days. This drive is designed with efficiency in mind, so not only will you own a massive amount of gigabytes, you’ll be using less energy to use this device compared to other external hard drives you might already own.
The holidays have arrived, so all kinds of deals are being sold out left and right. Act quick before you’re left missing out on amazing prices on a 2TB external hard drive that you might regret not having.
This mandroid was rebooted this morning after four days offline. I woke up around 6am, actually rolled out of bed and into the lunch-preparing/showering/dressing for work groove around 6:25am. The five-day lather/rinse/repeat routine has returned for a little bit, and I look forward for the December holidays to arrive.
Tasks get done one after the other, some later than expected but done at least. I’ve learned over the years not to conjure up ideas that don’t get followed through because time and resources get wasted and the unfortunate result of leaving others hanging can result in being known as someone with many ideas but not nearly enough completed. I’m happy to say that’s not me. Food for thought: Don’t say you will when you eventually won’t.
I do my best to take on projects that I will follow through to the most optimal level. If they failed to reach the planned completion, then they will at least be given their fair share of time to be reviewed carefully to conclude if the efforts will result in a lost cause, if the required time and energy is too expensive for the desired output, or if I signed up for something I feel I am mostly incapable of accomplishing at the given point in time.
I’m filled with anticipation for 2011 to roll around. The Spring semester is the conclusion of my educational enhancement for the time being, and I will have some time and resources freed up to be more prolific with all the excess wading around that I’m not going to bother to taking along.
MoSo: 4 years and running. Peace out.
Less than three months ago, I posted about this same Kingston G3 flash drive but it was on sale then for $23. Now it’s dropped about 13% in price to $20. Earlier this month, I wrote about the Kingston G2 version of the same capacity for $22. The prices keep dropping. $20 is a nice even price for a 16GB USB flash drive if you haven’t already invested in one.
Recently, the 80GB hard drive on my Playstation 3 was getting full. I needed a way to copy the files quickly and efficiently to one of my large network storage drives. I have a couple Kingston G3 4GB USB flash drives and just went back and forth copying files onto each drive and downloading the data onto the network drive. As tedious as this might seem, it was the best method for my current setup since copying files from a PS3 media console to another location is not as simple as a couple desktop computers on a network.
I moved about 35GB of data off my Playstation and stored the files on another disk space. This would have taken me less time to accomplish if I was working with a 16GB flash drive. Portable storage is always handy to keep around since you can easily read and write large amounts of information over and over.
