I’m just trying to squeeze this quick post before midnight creeps up. The clock just hit 10:56pm and I’m just going to hit a few more keys or until 11pm at the latest.
We’re currently watching Zapped! right now. Prior to the movie, we ran errands for about five hours stopping at a few places. Then, I started on single player mode on Portal 2.
We ate a pizza topped with mushrooms, spinach, and garlic. We’ve had it before, and it was also tasty then. The deal was buy the frozen pizza and get a box of ice cream Drumsticks free with a coupon. Sold. Now I think it’s time to hit Publish and enjoy one. Peace out.
April won’t pass me by without an update to this collection I’ve been maintaining for years. This month has been super busy which made it fly by like the others. I’m committed to not missing a month without writing a post here to keep it going, so here we go.
This semester is almost over. I only have a couple weeks after this one until I’m done with enhancing my education for a while. I will definitely be relieved when I don’t have to attend class or waste my time on labs and assignments.
I’m happy that I made it through, but I didn’t make it without kicking and screaming. Nonetheless, I didn’t give up, and I hope the effort rewards me more than just the fact that I completed the goal of going back to school to enhance my skills.
If any of you wonder why I don’t update this as often as I’ve done before, here’s the main reason why: My day job requires me to be in front of a computer most of the day. My class work requires me to utilize a computer to complete my labs and assignments. Everything from managing my finances to communicating with the world to acquiring my television programming involves me staring in a glowing box with my fingers tapping a keyboard and clicking a mouse. The way I currently live has me glued to a machine for most of my waking hours. Therefore, I do my best not to immerse myself in computers but the rest of the world wants me to do otherwise.
Mortal Kombat and Portal 2 on PS3 are my games of choice right now. I’ve played Mortal Kombat a little bit but haven’t really done much with Portal 2 other than played a few stages in co-op mode but I’m loving them both.
I plan on updating at least once more this upcoming weekend before the month is officially over. For those of you with Flash installed, jump jump:
To me, cordial cherries for Valentine’s Day are like Cadbury eggs for Easter, fireworks for Independence Day, and candy corn for Halloween. These confections will make your blood sugar spike and your teeth ache. Yes, I bought a couple boxes from Queen Anne. For that, I apologize.
I broke the month’s posting streak yesterday. Some weekends are busier than others. This was definitely a busy weekend. I ran plenty of errands including finally getting my eyeglasses prescription updated. I hope to place my order for a few pairs of new frames and lenses within the next couple days. Peace out.
I look forward to this site celebrating its 5th anniversary this August.
New priorities will be made throughout this year, and the new direction is in progress. The updates here will probably be a lot like last year in terms of frequency, but I hope to have more to share.
I don’t do much brainstorming on here anymore. Almost everything that I do revolves outside this sandbox I once played in often. However, this is also my junk drawer that facilitates the collector aspect to my personality. I’ll try to post more random photos whenever they’re taken. I’ve thought about scanning random flat objects that contain information worth sharing and posting them up here for you to enjoy.
This corner is a lot less busier than it used to be, but people on their internet surfboards from all over the planet still manage to find something I’ve posted on here that they’ve been digging for in the online cesspool. A majority of the content has value to very few and even just myself. This intellectual property belongs to me, and I’m pleased to be its owner.
A possible New Year’s resolution: Post to Modern Soapbox more often like you did before.
December is already halfway over?! December 25th is only 8 days away?! 2010 is over in less than two weeks? Time definitely flies when you stay busy. I haven’t updated this at all this month and it’s almost already gone by.
This past week has been the first week in months where I did not attend any class. Thank goodness this semester is over. Thank goodness I don’t have to deal with the evening MoPac traffic on Tuesday and Thursday just to be physically present for a class I learned next to nothing in. I’m glad I survived. I’m very content with the progress I made and how I managed to do well and maintain my full-time day job without any issues.
I adore the idea of gift-shopping online. I also love free shipping to the receivers of the gift. With gas prices nearing $3/gallon again, traveling by automobile can dent the wallet a bit more usual.
My goddaughter is getting a Chicco DJ baby walker for her first Christmas. She’s going to make the best flower girl I could ever ask for.

This mandroid was rebooted this morning after four days offline. I woke up around 6am, actually rolled out of bed and into the lunch-preparing/showering/dressing for work groove around 6:25am. The five-day lather/rinse/repeat routine has returned for a little bit, and I look forward for the December holidays to arrive.
Tasks get done one after the other, some later than expected but done at least. I’ve learned over the years not to conjure up ideas that don’t get followed through because time and resources get wasted and the unfortunate result of leaving others hanging can result in being known as someone with many ideas but not nearly enough completed. I’m happy to say that’s not me. Food for thought: Don’t say you will when you eventually won’t.
I do my best to take on projects that I will follow through to the most optimal level. If they failed to reach the planned completion, then they will at least be given their fair share of time to be reviewed carefully to conclude if the efforts will result in a lost cause, if the required time and energy is too expensive for the desired output, or if I signed up for something I feel I am mostly incapable of accomplishing at the given point in time.
I’m filled with anticipation for 2011 to roll around. The Spring semester is the conclusion of my educational enhancement for the time being, and I will have some time and resources freed up to be more prolific with all the excess wading around that I’m not going to bother to taking along.
