Day 2 of my marvelous four-day weekend is nearing its end, and two more days of chillaxing are lined up one after the other. Aside from my ritual weekend obligations, I will be unwinding to my heart’s content more than I have been able to this entire year.
Black Friday has come and gone, and I didn’t bother with it because I don’t see the point. Cyber Monday makes more sense, and the mayhem is in much better order since the idea of eager shoppers being killed by human stampedes is impossible. Nonetheless, I don’t have much holiday shopping to do at all, so I’m not too concerned about not being able to find the temporary happiness that money can buy.
Thanksgiving Day was the usual annual ritual: eat ’til I’m about to explode, sneak in a nap somewhere (this time during my third viewing of Scott Pilgrim Vs The World), and enjoy the day off with my family. We dusted off the Wii Fit, and I managed to break my hula hoop record even though I haven’t stepped on the Balance Board in about two years.
2010 has a little more than a month left in it, and some welcome changes will be arriving in next year. For now, I will cherish the chilly central Texas weather that makes ungrateful people miserable like when the summer heat makes me miserable. As long as I’m not uncontrollably shivering, I’m diggin’ the cold. Peace out.
