the forward thinker

The month of August passed without an update. I just noticed that today. I was busier than usual that month with work clocking in around 50 hours a week.

August is the month that marks the anniversary of when this website became a part of the world wide web. This site has been online for over six years now.

Work is returning to normal. I have been averaging about 45 hours a week. I hope to be back to the usual 40 by the beginning of next month. The Texas heat is slowly leaving the state, and that makes me real happy. I really enjoy the cooler weather.

Since this post went stale before it started, I’ll end it here. Peace out.

the weather machines

After a long and redundant week of work and class, the weekend has finally arrived. I was going to write a longer post about the dream I had last night, but I don’t have the time tonight. I’ll save it for some time this weekend, maybe before I knock out a project due for one of my classes.

I find it a little odd how the weather has been optimal on the weekends but has been extra cold during the week. I blame the government weather machines. Peace out.

the relaxing saturday

We just finished the third season of Breaking Bad and eager for the next season to start airing.

We’ve been a couple couch potatoes all day today catching up on our TV shows from this past week. We’re going to get some burgers here in a bit but maybe knock out a few rounds of Tetris before we go. The tortas and breakfast tacos were delicious as usual this morning.

We plan on going to the park for a stroll tomorrow morning. I’ll get my online class squared away as well before this week’s deadline. The weather today is great, completely the opposite of yesterday. I hope tomorrow is more of the same, especially since I’ll be enjoying the outdoors much more than usual. Peace out.

the weather or not

Has the temperature in the beautiful city of Austin finally dipped below 90 degrees? I hear it is supposed to hang around for the next ten days. () My brain can actually function optimally. The unreasonable heat really drags me down, not so much the summer itself. I’m looking forward to the milder weather.

I went to EZ’s on Lamar across from Central Market with my family for dinner last night and had the poblano burger. I’ve never had their food before and was a little disappointed that my patty was really undercooked. The meat was so pink throughout the middle that it looked like it was just wrapped in a thin brown layer of “grilled.”

I ate it anyway. I didn’t want to complain, because I was sure that my next burger would have just been made with a hockey puck patty by disgruntled workers who work in the kitchen. I may go back to that restaurant, but chances are that I won’t with all the great places to choose from in this town.

I send this post into the ether we affectionately called the interweb. Everyone who reads these words will know I had an undercooked burger from EZ’s this weekend but also possess an iron stomach so I didn’t get food poisoning.

the super bowl

Super Bowl Sunday has arrived, and NFL fans across the US are all geared up. I’m not a football fan myself, so I don’t really keep up with any of it.

My brother and I will be dropping by PK’s to fix a busted wire on his Les Paul. Afterwards, we’ll be visiting our mother for the scheduled monthly dinner outing. Mare & I will stop by the grocery store later tonight. That’s my Sunday. No football involved.

Weatherwise, today has been one of the hottest days lately. I’m sure all of the football fans enjoy this weather, because their grills will stay nice and hot while they cook up some carcasses. Personally, I’m a fan of the 65-70°F range where it’s nice and cool. I can tolerate temperatures anywhere from 60-100°F, but 65-70 is where it’s at.

End of my rant today. I’m gonna keep on keepin’ on with this daily post thing. Three down, twenty-six to go. Stick it to me.
